**Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity**
Are you Tangata whenua and passionate about teaching the next generation of health professionals?
The Nursing Department is committed to the integration of cultural safety into the delivery of our curricula. A kaiwhakaako in the department of nursing will purposefully engage in the co-design and implementation of the undergraduate and postgraduate nursing programmes. The department commits to a Te Tiriti curriculum with the successful applicant collaborating to kaupapa Māori and interweaving mātauranga aligned with the competencies of Te Kaunihera Tiaki Niho o Aotearoa. The kaiwhakaako will contribute to existing mātauranga Māori and be supported to share mahi with other Māori working in this space.
A registered nurse with a master's/doctoral qualification is preferred; we are open to hearing from applicants who have strengths in tikanga, mātauranga, and Te Ao Māori with research who are interested in working towards an academic career, post-graduate qualifications and research. The successful applicant will be supported by and contribute to a network of other tangata whenua kaiwhakaako and a growing tangata whenua leadership team within the School of Clinical Sciences.

**Ko wai koe | About you**
The successful applicant will actively engage in facilitating the delivery of education at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. To achieve great outcomes in this role, as well as your solid experience, you will also bring:
- Knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi is a foundation for meeting and exceeding professional competencies.
- Knowledge of te reo me onā tikanga and/or be willing to deepen your understanding in this space.
- Connections and relationships to the Mana Whenua of Tāmaki Makaurau, or the desire to develop these relationships.
- Commitment to teaching within your expertise, across a range of health courses.
- Commitment to build mātauranga and to share this with other Māori in this space, and in Te Ao Whānui.
