**Smokefree Team - Primary Health Service - Te Whatu Ora**

**Permanent, Part-time, 0.8 FTE, 32 Hours per week**

**Fixed Term, Part Time, 0.2 FTE 8 Hours per week -( for 12 months)**

The Smokefree Team is part of Primary and Community Servies providing smoking cessation information to support individuals and groups with advice and clinical services throughout the South Canterbury region. There is a focus and commitment on providing evidence based smokefree leadership, advice and clinical services.

Day to day the role works directly with primary health, community service providers, including General Practice, Pharmacies, Primary Mental Health and Public Health.

As well as supporting the general team, this role is focused on working with Māori, youth, pregnant mothers and with mental health patients wanting to quit smoking and therefore a background in Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Social work, or Cessation Services would be a strong advantage

Success factors for this role include;
- Be Registered with the New Zealand Nursing Council and hold a current practising certificate
- Experience health promotion, education and or clinical service provision
- Experience and success managing projects
- Experience motivating people to change
- The person in this role will need to be smokefree
