**About the Role**
The purpose of the role is to provide Research Assistant experience and skills to the Endometrial Cancer (EC) study team across various projects, including the EC qualitative pre-study, EC Microbiome study, and potential international collaborations. You'll also assist the Health Gains Development Team and Māori Health Pipeline Team on studies and programmes of work that focus on improving health outcomes.
Your tasks include contributing to study design with a key focus on research engagement approaches, writing research materials, conducting literature reviews, engage with communities, recruitment, and supporting data collection and reporting. You'll coordinate with the Health Gain Development team on various tasks, and collaborate with clinical and academic teams.
Bringing a strong understanding and lived experiences of Pacific cultural settings, practices and research approaches, to help with Māori and Pacific voices and aspirations being reflected throughout the work. You'll confidently lead talanoa in a culturally respectful and responsive manner.
**About the Team/Service/ Location**
The Health Gain Development team undertakes robust implementation science research on key health interventions to address the life expectancy gap for both Māori and Pacific peoples when compared with other ethnicities in Aotearoa, as well as other priority health interventions. Our work covers the development of innovative equity approaches to healthcare interventions from early research right through to scaled up implementation plans.
**About you**
You will have experience in clinical research or data environments, including engaging and recruitment, developing and writing study documents, reports and presentations. You'll have either a bachelors degree, post-grad qualification in a relevant field or have significant work experience in a context that has given you the relevant skills for this kind of work.
This role involves working with diverse stakeholders at national, regional, and local levels, so strong communication and collaboration skills are essential, along with the ability to build relationships and understand the needs of various teams.
- A relevant graduate and post-graduate qualification.
- Experience in Pacific cultural environments, particularly in health, would be advantageous.
- Work with evidence and literature reviews.
- A background with in-field research and patient/participant data handling
- Experience in implementing Te Tiriti o Waitangi in action.
- Proficient in written and verbal communication
- Experience of working within a clinical research or clinical data environment
- Data entry, management and analysis
- Report writing and presentation
