**About the role**:
Make a real difference in your local community and join our wonderful Hospice shop team in Browns Bay We need a Retail Assistant Manager who is up for a challenge and wants to get stuck into a busy role that is full of variety. This role is not for the faint hearted It's physical, it’s busy, and it’s full on. You won’t be on your own as you'll have the support of your manager and a team of fantastic volunteers to help you.

On a daily basis you will:

- Be responsible for the overall running of the shop when the manager is not there
- Ensure a fantastic customer experience for all donors and customers
- Accept donations, sort and display
- Lead the team of dedicated volunteers and ensure they get adequate breaks and cups of tea

The hours of work for this position are Thursdays 8:30am - 5pm, every second Friday 8:30am - 5pm and Saturdays 9am - 4pm.

**About you**:
We’re looking for someone who lives and breathes great customer service. To be considered you will:

- Get on well with all walks of life and be able to motivate and lead a team of volunteers
- Be highly organised and able to work at pace
- Ideally have experience in fashion retail and some knowledge of brands and their value
- Demonstrate creativity to display items in a way that will captivate and enchant
- Be a team player who can get stuck in and use initiative
- Be flexible to occasionally pick up additional hours

Harbour Hospice is one of the largest hospices in New Zealand, caring for patients and their whānau for almost 40 years. Every day we care for more than 350 people across the North Shore, Hibiscus Coast and Warkworth/Wellsford regions, supporting them at home (or in one of our three sites) to live every moment in whatever way is most important to them.

Our bespoke services, given free of charge, include medical care, spiritual support, physiotherapy, social activities and more.

We have a network of 17 hospice shops from Devonport to Te Hana, delivering a third of our funding. The shops are busy and vibrant and an important part of the communities we serve.
