A human centred role creating awesome people experiences
- No two days the same in this broad HR role
- A cool, collaborative and connected team
Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
Our fabulous People Partner Olivia is heading overseas for brighter (and warmer) shores. While we wish her well, she will be missed by the team and so we are looking for a super star People Partner to replace her to tackle some interesting and work in a time of change at Toitū Te Whenua.
**Here's what Olivia has to say**: “I always felt I could bring my full self to work at Toitū Te Whenua. The team and Jonny are incredibly supportive, and I will greatly miss working with such a tight knit group of people. This role is an amazing opportunity to embrace challenges and expand your skills and experience in a supportive environment, while also having some laughs along the way.”
We are looking for someone to hit the ground running with a good grounding in HR practice, systems and processes, but has an appetite to take on more than just the usual HR generalist work. As a member of the People Experience team, you'll get to take on OD project work alongside supporting leaders to build capability and culture in their teams.
You'll join us with an energetic and customer-centric approach to your work, innovative and solution-oriented mindset, and honed influencing and relationship management skills.
We are looking to shake up the way that we partner with the business and so are investing the time to configure our ways of working to leverage the collective strengths of the team. What we do know already is that you'll work with the rest of the team in a portfolio approach, alongside getting involved in project work and new initiatives.
We're a cool team that likes to have fun, work collaboratively, and think outside the square of how we deliver modern HR - it's all about developing great people experiences.

**To ensure your success in this role, you'll need**:
- Previous experience operating as a generalist in the HR space (either public or private sector)
- An open and willing attitude towards cross-team collaboration and engagement combined with the diplomacy and assuredness to back yourself and your professional ability when dealing with complex situations,
- The ability to translate and convincingly communicate the “what we do” and the explain the “why we do it” piece appropriately to stakeholders at a variety of levels,
