Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand, Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty is spread across a vast geographical area and centred across two hospitals based in Tauranga and Whakatāne. We serve a population of approximately 259,000 for the major population centres of Tauranga, Katikati, Te Puke, Whakatāne, Kawerau and Ōpōtiki. Te Whatu Ora Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty is one of the Bay of Plenty's largest employers with over 4000 staff.
He Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the Role
We are excited to recruit to the role of Health Care Assistant. In this role you will provide assistance to the midwifery and nursing team to ensure that a high level of maternity care is maintained at all times. Tasks are predominantly housekeeping, clerical and basic care of birthing women and babies. All MSW work is carried out under the direction and delegation of a registered midwife/nurse.
Ko Matariki, the Whakatāne Maternity Unit is a person and whānau focussed unit providing personalised, quality maternity care to birthing women and their families.

This is a permanent 0.8 FTE position, working 64 hours per fortnight.
