**Are you our next Weekend Matron?**
Waihi School is an independent day and boarding school for children from Years 4-8. Located in Winchester, South Canterbury, Waihi provides a small school environment with strong traditional and family values, balanced with a passion for embracing technology tools and preparing its students for today's world.
They are seeking a warm, friendly, professional, and caring **Weekend Matron** to join the Pyne House (school boarding house team) who is highly committed to supporting the health and well-being of up to 60 children, in school years 5-8
The Matron’s role carries the responsibility for the physical and mental well-being of all the students within the House, daily hygiene, laundry, and general cleanliness of the House while encouraging students to become more independent and responsible.
- Require a current, full, and clean driver's licence and up-to-date First Aid qualification (or be prepared to undertake this training)
- Be required to give authorisation for, and pass, a full police check
- Be required to sleep on-site in the boarding house on duty nights
- Have energy, dynamism, and an ability to form effective relationships with children, staff, and families
- Be approachable, discreet, and respectful of adolescents
- Possess a good work ethic, with high standards
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Have a positive outlook and open mind, and an ability to see the bigger picture
**Application timelines**:
- The closing date for the role is Wednesday 12th June at 4pm, with interviews to be held on Friday 14th June
- An expectation would be to undertake a shadow weekend (paid) on 22 and 23 June and start work on 29 and 30 June
**Things to note**:
- This is a term-time only job, with some before
- and after-term preparatory work that would not include overnight hours.
