**About the Role**
We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Clinical Haematologist to join an established team of seven Haematologists and four resident medical officers. The position is fulltime permanent and required to participate in a 1 in 8 on call roster.
Whilst the team are employed by Te Pae Hauora o Ruahine o Tararua | MidCentral, they have clinical responsibilities in one or more of the regions covered by the Regional Cancer Treatment Service. One of those regions is Te Matau a Māui | Hawke’s Bay, which is why we are looking for someone who will be based physically at Hawke’s Bay Fallen Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital**. We are ideally looking for someone who has experience and/or a special interest in Haemato-Oncology.**

**About the Service**
Whilst this role is based in Hawke’s Bay, it is Palmerston North that organises and provides the Clinical Haematology, Radiation Oncology and Medical Oncology services to the districts that cover the communities of the Manawatū, northern Wairarapa, Hawke's Bay, Whanganui and Taranaki. This is a combined population of 600,000.
The service at Hawke’s Bay provides outpatient haematology care to a wide range of haematological conditions and includes on site outpatient chemotherapy administration.
The service is an approved FRACP training centre and undertakes active postgraduate teaching at House Officer, Senior House Officer and Registrar level. Multi-disciplinary case meetings (Tumour Boards) are held locally and regionally.
**About you**
Applicants should ideally be Fellows of the Royal College of Physicians of Australasia or equivalent, and eligible for Vocational Registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
