**Mō tēnei mahi (About this job)**
We are seeking a dedicated Kaiako to deliver the total immersion Te Pūkehetanga o te Reo Level 4 programme. This is a permanent, full-time role that starts in January 2025.
This role includes, but is not limited to developing lesson plans, delivering material to tauira (students), addressing their learning needs, and assessing their progress. Some flexibility may be required for occasional weekend and evening work.
**Mōu (About you)**
We are looking for someone with extensive knowledge in te ao Māori, ngā āhuatanga Māori, tikanga Māori, ngā hītori Māori, ngā pakiwaitara, whakapapa, ngā iwi Māori, dialect differences.
You will also bring with you:
- New Zealand Certificate n Adult Tertiary Teaching Level 5 (NZCATT L5) or equivalent, or be willing to complete this during the first year of employment
- Full and current New Zealand Driver’s License
- Proven experience in a similar role
- 3+ years’ experience teaching in full immersion te reo Māori and/or have teaching experience in a Rūmaki or Reo Māori setting
- Adult teaching experience.
- Fluency in te reo and ngā āhuatanga Māori and ability to lead in these areas
As a kaupapa Māori organisation, your willingness to participate in cultural activities and develop an understanding of Āhuatanga Māori (values, culture and tikanga) will be key.
