**Our Opportunity**:
Reporting to the Network Manager, the Senior Network Engineer ("Senior Engineer") role provides Network Engineer and expert technical support and maintenance in addition to participating in Network solution designs that always assure availability and stability of associated Technology services.
The Senior Engineer is a key delivery role that ensures Network solutions and services:
- Are delivered in alignment with Technology needs and business unit expectations
- Are effective and efficient, protecting and optimizing Technology investment
In addition, as an individual contributor, the Senior Engineer delivers tasks and services with a strong focus on customer and business unit satisfaction. This role will actively lead initiatives, working with key stakeholders with mínimal support and oversight and will be responsible for developing and coaching others across the team.
This role can be based in either Auckland, Hamilton or Tauranga.
**Key Accountabilities**:
- Providing hands-on and continuous input into the elaboration and implementation of solutions as the designs evolve through successive delivery cycles or sprints.
- Engaging with Architects, Technical Leads, fellow Engineers, technical teams, Technology suppliers and technology partners to create or support the creation of detailed specification that will enable effective implementation and delivery.
- Remain actively involved throughout the implementation of solutions as it evolves, defining, measuring, assessing, and implementing technical, operational and quality requirements ensuring the solutions meet the agreed non-functional requirements such as performance, accessibility, security, quality, scaling & monitoring.
- Work collaboratively with Technology partners to proactively manage and maintain the operational health and security of the platform within agreed standards and service levels.
- Ensure alignment with relevant Technology Compliance, Governance and Project Management processes.
- Participating in an on-call roster shared among network team members, ensuring fair rotation and timely response to incidents to maintain platform availability and reliability.
**We are looking for**:
- Proficiency in **Technology Service Management** practices and processes.
- Certification or equivalent experience at **CCNP** level.
- Proven ability to mentor and lead technical teams effectively.
- Strong experience in enterprise or large-scale network design and support.
- Expertise in advanced routing and switching protocols (e.g., **OSPF, BGP, MPLS**).
- Hands-on experience with **data center** **EVPN/VXLAN** and multi-vendor environments.
- Skilled in managing **Palo Alto and Fortinet**firewalls for advanced security operations.
- Familiarity with **Cisco Nexus, Juniper platforms, and F5 load balancers**.
- Demonstrated ability to manage network lifecycle processes and ensure performance reliability.
