Ironmaking Maintenance Superintendent

**What you will be doing**

Reporting to the General Manager of Primary Operations, the Ironmaking Maintenance Superintendent is a key member of New Zealand Steel’s Primary Operations and wider leadership team. You will provide hands on operational leadership to the Ironmaking maintenance team, delivering optimal performance outcomes.

The primary responsibility of this role is to manage equipment maintenance and personnel to ensure the production of Iron meets budgeted tonnage, cost targets and is delivered to the downstream customers on time and to required specifications. As an experienced leader you will intuitively develop your team to embed a focus on safety and sustainability as holistic components of operational and asset management excellence.

We are looking for an experienced, self-motivated and resilient individual who will continue to build and maintain operating disciplines, whilst fostering a strong team culture that focuses on achieving production excellence through the delivery of liquid iron to Ironmaking production targets.

**What you will bring to the role**
- A relevant tertiary qualification, or equivalent demonstrated work experience
- Proven team management skills
- Demonstrated experience in a hot metal or process safety related field.
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent planning and organizational skills
- A demonstrated commitment to safety excellence and good environmental practices
