**About the role**
An Engineer I in the Propulsion Development Team at Rocket Lab is responsible for contributing to product upkeep and development engineering work on the propulsion systems. This role requires close work with more experienced engineers to deliver project contributions to the expectations of the company. Increased responsibility over the junior position provides more scope to perform low risk engineering with less input from experienced engineering reviews for allocated tasks.
**Essential skills**
- 2+ years industry experience
- Engineering degree
- Able to effectively transfer skills to rocket propulsion technology where applicable and still deliver required company outcomes
- Proven track record of individually delivering a complete and successful engineering project from conception to operation
**Desirable skills**
- **Experience from previous employment that meets engineering experience title and skills**:
- **Experience working with one or more of the analysis types below to solve industry related problems applicable to rocket engines**
**o Structural static and/or non-linear analysis**
**o Modal and/or frequency domain analysis**
**o Computational fluid dynamics analysis**
**o Heat transfer or thermal analysis**
**o Fatigue and/or creep analysis**
**o DFMEA and/or PFMEA analysis**
**o DMAIC and/or fishbone analysis**
