Local government has been majorly impacted by the North Island Extreme Weather Events (Cyclones Hale and Gabrielle) and our team is working closely with Councils, Ministers and other Government agencies on the recovery programme.
We are looking for an awesome and experienced Analyst (Principal or Senior) to join our Ue Te Hīnātore Local Government Branch Policy and Operations Team and deliver this critical mahi.
This Principal Advisor/Senior Policy Analyst role will work to a Policy Manager leading our recovery work programme. You will lead fast evolving complex policy areas, representing the Department on key forums while reporting to multiple Ministers and building relationships with Councils and other Agencies. As an experienced policy professional you will help coach and mentor more junior analysts.
Most of our team is Wellington based but we welcome applicants from all over Aotearoa.
