**Job Description**:
The Opportunity

In this multi-functional role, you will be a key member of our Transmission & Distribution team dedicated to leading and engaging with our clients to deliver multi-disciplinary projects throughout NZ and Australia.

This role will suit a passionate individual with a recognised track record in providing high-value transmission and distribution advisory services. It is a fantastic opportunity to be actively involved in an innovative and highly motivated team of energy professionals.

**Qualifications**:
About You

You will be a logical and proactive problem solver with strong communication skills who has at least 5 years' post graduate experience in secondary systems, and be able to demonstrate:
+ Sound practical power systems knowledge.

+ Good understanding of physical parameters/characteristics of the components of the network - lines, transformers, buses, capacitors, reactors, feeders, generators, synchronous condensers, etc.

+ Earthing & phasing arrangements.

+ Behaviour of voltage transformers (VT), current transformers (CT), neutral current transformers (NCT), Earthing transformers (ET), Neutral earthing resistors (NER).

+ Network modelling for all types of faults including fundamental understanding of sequence components, ohmic impedances, mutual impedances, per unit impedances.

+ System fault modelling; including asymmetrical fault behaviour and mutual coupling.

+ Calculation/selection of relay settings, control logic and protection signalling requirements

+ Data protocols operating between protection relays, control systems, and primary equipment such as AVRs (auto voltage regulators) controlling transformer tap changers; particularly IEC61850.

+ Secondary circuit design including the IEC international best practice.

+ DC & AC auxiliary systems calculations and designs, with ratings sufficient to support the protection and primary equipment.

+ Working experience with any of the power system tools e.g. DigSilent/Power Factory, PSSE, SINCAL, EDSA, ETAP etc.
