We are actively seeking a Kaiārahi (Team Leader) to support our Te Waharoa team in delivering a range of services to diverse communities. Te Waharoa, is a kaupapa Māori Health Service based in Waitaha/Christchurch that works with all whānau to achieve wellbeing.

The purpose of the role is to focus on providing professional team leadership and oversight to Te Waharoa kaimahi to deliver best practice and ethical processes in the provision of service, care, and guidance to tangata whaiora that seek help.

The position would suit an experience practitioner with a background in health or social services, for individuals who hold a range of skills and qualities that includes:

- Experience working across various settings, and age groups, including community-based mental health services and more specialized mental health care environments.
- Being a natural and inspirational leader, who leads by example and demonstrates integrity with the proven ability to face hard decisions with confidence.
- Exude enthusiasm and passion for the work you do that inspires and motivates your team to succeed and feel valued.
- Awareness of Te Ao Māori and comprehension of Te Reo Māori, even at a basic level in workplace communications or a strong willingness to learn.
- Effectively distribute information to your team and stakeholders with the ability to communicate with a wide range of people, lead meetings, maintain good documentation and plans.
- Possess a good understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and how it applies to Purapura Whetu delivery of safe, fair practice.
- A good understanding of religious, ethnic, cultural backgrounds is essential.
