We are looking for an **Assistant Manager** to join our **Busy Liquor Store, Restaurant and Bar at 41 Talbot Street, Geraldine**. You will be assisting and working under our Store/Bar / Restaurant managers and report to him. You will assist our store manager in his daily tasks and act as a sole in charge in his absence.

We are looking for a highly motivated energetic and organizedindividual with exceptional customer service. He/she needs to assist with customer purchases, price enquiries and special orders. Working in retail means that you will have to be available to work weekends/public holidays and have flexibility to work extra hours/days when needed.

**Your main tasks will be**:

- Overall, in-charge of the Village Inn Sports Bar, restaurant and Liquor Store
- Observing liquor, gaming, TAB, health and other applicable laws
- Planning menus in consultation with chefs and supervising bar menu and function services control operational costs and identify waste issues
- Implement policies and protocols that will maintain future bar operations
- Planning, booking and supervising sporting, gaming and entertainment activities Managing payroll and processing the payments to suppliers
- Accountability for stock handling, daily banking and the reporting of discrepancies and variances from stock takes
- Maintain & build working relationships with associated breweries & suppliers
- Manage the companys human resources including hiring, performance reviews & disciplinary procedures
- Serving the customers with great help and making sure that they receive prompt service
- Reviewing the stock lines and making decisions as to introducing the new products and discontinuing the existing products
- Assist in staff management including recruitment and training of staff to maintain adequate staffing levels
- Creating work schedules for staffs
- Ensure that the stock is displayed on shelves appropriately and supplies replenished
- Dealing with customers and gathering feedback to improve store/bar offerings.
- Checking on customer feedback and responding them professionally
- Creating and posting in store and online store promotions
- Determining purchasing requirements and policies
- Examining the stock levels and ordering stock beforehand to ensure adequate stock supplies at all times
- Handling banking transactions
- Ensuring compliance with the health and safety provisions and organizing staff training if required
- Be responsible and act as in-charge of the store in the absence of the store manager
- Any other duties that may be asked from time to time
- Your job description includes but is not limited to the tasks outlined. You may be asked to perform additional tasks (within the scope of your position and expertise) as reasonably required.

**You will need the following skills**:

- Relevant work experience of at least 1 year OR qualification
- Proven leadership abilities and driving a team to success
- Outgoing and encouraging personality
- Passionate about the retail and long-term career in retail
- Ability to provide at least two positive references
- Physically fit and healthy
- Well organized and passionate about the job
- Must have clean criminal history
- Must pass pre-employment checks if required

**Days of Work: Monday to Sunday**

**Hours of Work: Minimum 30 to 45 Hours Per Week
