**The opportunity - Te āheinga**
As part of our commitment to digital excellence, we are seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to join our Digital Enablement Team. This role is critical in aligning our Digital and IT Strategy with our broader organisational objectives, ensuring that our technology landscape supports our mission and vision.
As an Enterprise Architect, you will be responsible for providing technology guidance, developing road maps, and establishing principles, standards, and best practices. You will play a key role in ensuring that our digital initiatives are aligned with our strategic goals, driving innovation, and enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of our IT operations.
**Key responsibilities - Ngā haepapa matua**:
- Maintains an Enterprise Architecture capability
- Maintains a current and future state Enterprise Architecture
- Oversees and manages change to the Enterprise Architecture with appropriate levels of governance
- Aligns architecture strategy with business goals
- Reviews existing business processes and establishes metrics to improve business processes, as well as support of all architectural disciplines under their direction
- Provides a vision for the transitional and future state architectures for our ERP platform
- Develops and communicates architectural policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures
- Defines, explains, and advocates technology strategy
- Advises on options, risks, costs versus benefits, system impacts, and technology priorities
- Directs the research and evaluation of emerging technology, industry, and market trends
- Reviews and/or analyses and develops architectural requirements as needed for the organisation
- Leads teams in developing technology plans
- Leads programs to develop, maintain, and govern the enterprise architecture across the organisation
- Works on other complex projects that require in-depth knowledge across multiple specialised architecture domains
- Provides strong advocacy for Digital Enablement and the Enterprise Architecture capability across the business
- Provides strategic consultation to business and IT leaders
- Collaborates with project management and Digital Enablement to ensure progress towards architectural alignment with project goals and requirements
- Works with business leaders to understand business requirements and help them understand how technology trade-offs influence strategy
- Works within the Local Government sector to identify opportunities for collaboration and sharing
**Es**sential skills and experience - Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako**:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, computer engineering, system analysis, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
- 15 or more years of IT and business/industry work experience including architecture design and deployment, systems lifecycle management, and infrastructure planning and operations
- Broad, demonstrable experience across all Enterprise Architecture domains
- Leadership experience in managing multiple, large, cross-functional teams or projects, and influencing senior level management and key stakeholders
- Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies
- Leadership experience in maintaining and enhancing Enterprise Architecture capability
- Knowledge of all components of holistic enterprise architecture, business re-engineering principles and processes, and basic knowledge of financial models and budgeting
- Previous experience with Enterprise Resource Planning solutions including architecture, planning and technical oversight
- Previous experience in modernising a complex integration landscape
- Strong vendor management skills
