You will carry out verification activities in accordance with the current legislation and Overseas Market Access requirements, thereby permitting the issue of official assurances for export. This is a diverse role, and you could be auditing several different sectors associated with animal products such as meat, dairy, seafood, and poultry.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Verification activities across a range of primary and secondary animal product processors.
- Approving transfer of animal products through transfer documents to provide final assurance for export of animal products.
- Completing inspections of incoming animal products for further processing.
- Manging your own time/calendar efficiently with the workload provided by the team leader.
You will be based in Hamilton as part of the Waikato Bay of Plenty Circuit team and will work within this region. You will report to the Waikato Bay of Plenty Circuit Team Leader. The role sits within the Verification Services Directorate. MPI Verification Services (MPI VS) provides a range of food safety verification and certification services to support market access strategies and setting standards.
**About You** - **Mou**
To be successful for this role you will:
- Have a science degree (preferably a Food Science or Food Technology degree).
- Have experience within the food industry and understand the principles of HACCP.
- Have knowledge of the principles and practices associated with verification, Good Manufacturing Practices and Quality Assurance systems.
- Have highly effective oral and written communication skills.
- Have a full driver's licence and ability to drive Class 1 vehicles.
You must have a current full New Zealand driver licence (not temporary, learner, or provisional) or equivalent full foreign drivers licence, and any endorsements required for the type of driving you'll be doing.
