Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the Role
The Fisheries Compliance Liaison and Coordination team (FCLC) coordinate and conduct analysis of commercial fishing activity to target and direct MPI fisheries compliance resources. Information analysed not only includes traditionally available information sources, but newer information streams brought on-line through the implementation of digital monitoring in the commercial fishing sector.

The FCLC Compliance Analyst role will benefit from applicants with the following strengths and abilities:
- An enquiring mind and ability to detect non-compliance against fisheries regulation
- The ability to understand complex information and analyse large data sets
- The technical savvy to work across multiple data sources
- The ability to deliver high quality intelligence analysis products
- The ability to inform decision makers on where to direct compliance response to address non-compliant activity
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills and a keen attention to detail
- Have experience building or contributing to sound processes and procedures
- Have a strong work ethic, be self-motivated and take initiative
- Be a team player while being able to work autonomously
- Have passion, motivation, a good attitude and sense of humour
- Have knowledge and understanding of the Treaty of Waitangi and its importance in NZ
