Are you physically fit, have an eye for detail, and love being outdoors in all weather?

Down to Earth Gardening is a small business in central Christchurch which prides itself on giving a premium service of garden design, development, and design. A person’s home is their sanctuary, and the garden is an extension of that space. We look to foster a trust-based relationship where we can pre-empt client’s needs and reflect their identity in the aesthetic of the garden, all while maintaining an emphasis on functionality.

Our approach is reflected in our name. We are looking for someone who understands that a large part of life is work and doesn’t shy away from that fact. Knowing this, you should do something you love Being outdoors, physically active, supporting life to thrive, and thinking about the interconnectedness of that life is what we are all about.

Previous experience in the garden is preferred, however attitude overrides all in this job

The job will initially involve maintenance tasks of weeding, hedge trimming, fertilising, and mulching. We are a growing business though and there may be opportunities for the right person to grow with us.

Gardening is the curation of nature and as such works off a different clock than today’s instant gratification lifestyle. In of themselves there are many mundane tasks involved - It requires an imagination and understanding of the long-term goals of a garden to bring these tasks to life There is huge joy to be had in being able to see the fruits of your work as a garden develops over time.
