**About the role | Ko te mahi nei**

The Community Support, Governance & Partnerships Unit provides a leading role in community recreation activities and events.

Our team is looking for two Community Recreation Assistants to assist us over the summer period with the delivery of a range of exciting community events and programmes. Included but not limited to the following responsibilities:

- Work alongside Community Recreation Advisors to plan and deliver community events.
- Maintain accurate records pertaining to event/s and programmed activities - timelines, tasks completed, updating databases and other details as directed by the Community Recreation Advisors.
- Coordinate bookings for event vans and packing of event trailer.
- Coordinate bookings of contractors / vendors / venues / equipment.
- Coordinate the purchase of required equipment and services and arrange payments as necessary.
- Coordinate event resources and ensure they are appropriately stored and maintained.
- Complete an evaluation and final report of each event being staged.
- Complete written feedback for sponsors and involved community organisations and contractors.

**About you | Ko Koe Tēnei**

These positions will involve event planning, delivery and evaluation and the successful applicants will be required during the period of Monday 4th November - ending 31st March 2025 with approximately 3 unpaid weeks off over Christmas.
- Proven programme and activity planning skills, including the ability to maintain accurate records.
- Ability to drive a manual car and use a trailer (towing and reversing).
- Ability to work in a self-motivated and creative way.
- An awareness of cultural issues, particularly in relation to minority ethnic groups.
- Highly organised with effective time management skills.

These positions will be recognised as meeting the requirements of practical work for university recreation studies.

**Additional Information | Ko ētahi atu kōrero**:
**_ Salary: $_**_27.28 - $30.31 per hour._
**_Hours of Work: _**_Fixed-term to assist with busy summer period from November 2024 - March 2025. Hours will be rostered with a weekly minimum of 20 hours, to a maximum of 37.5 hours including weekends._
**_Location: _**_Primarily based at the Beckenham Service Centre, however there may be a requirement to assist at other Christchurch City Council service hubs._
