**About the Team**
- Our excellent team is based in a purpose built 24-bedded ward that provides care for older patients and those requiring rehabilitation or who have suffered a stroke. Our team consists of one other specialist, a geriatric nurse specialist, a registrar and house officer as well an excellent interdisciplinary team of allied health professionals and nurses. We are committed to providing the best outcomes for our patients.
- We also provide outpatient and community assessments in both Rotorua and Taupo. We work closely with our surgical and anaesthetic colleagues and provide a perioperative frailty service. We run a specialist Parkinson’s disease interdisciplinary clinic and also a memory clinic. We have close links with our physician colleagues, older person mental health services, NASC, and our community based colleagues.
- In response to a local aging population we anticipate the development of an acute in patient geriatric service that would be well placed to provide advice to our orthopaedic and surgical teams. The development of this service will be a will be a key part of this role

**About you**
We are looking for applicants with specialist training in geriatric medicine that are either vocationally registered with the New Zealand Medical Council (NZMC) or for overseas trained applicants who would be eligible for vocational registration.
