**Job Brief**: Be part of a global organization that specializes in lime and limestone processing. This key role will be responsible for measuring product quality against the specification requirements of our internal and external customers.

**Our Role**
We are recruiting for a motivated and experienced Laboratory Technician. This permanent fulltime role would be located at our Plant in Otorohanga. Reporting to the Laboratory Supervisor the role will be responsible for product testing and sampling to meet production requirements and administering quality activities on site in line with company and legislative standards to support the production team achieve product grade and production targets.
**Key Responsibilities include**:
- Conduct required sample quality testing of finished products, submit results for quality control approval and identify non-conforming product.
- Report on and communicate product quality results with appropriate internal and external stakeholders.
- Deliver coaching to employees including but not limited to sampling, testing, and knowledge of quality related company procedures.
- Participate in internal and external quality audits with the Quality Officer. Implement corrective actions arising from identified deficiencies.
- Coordinate equipment calibrations and maintenance with the suppliers as well as keeping the laboratory equipment in a clean and accurate form.
- The role would include general laboratory administrative duties such as; labelling and packing of tested products, keeping the laboratory clean, tidy and well maintained and ordering of consumables and critical spare parts.
- Assist in operating of the plant and equipment to produce products within specification in a safe and efficient manner in compliance with company policies, procedure and guidelines assist in conducting the activities that enable us to extract limestone and process it into various products ready for sale to our customers.
- Communicate deviations from expected plant throughput and product quality to the Production Superintendent and the team. Remove and control product outside of specifications and provide guidance toother operators as required.
**About you**

Ideally you will have worked in a laboratory environment sampling raw materials and/or operations/production environment, preferably coming from the chemical or manufacturing industry. However full on the job training will be given to the right applicant. You have effective communication and interpersonal skills as well as problem solving, decision making, time management and organizational skills. The role will also require proficient computer skills and experience with laboratory information management systems. A valid drivers licence is required
