**About the role**

This is your chance to support the transportation group with appropriate technical solutions that provide the best outcomes to the agreed goals whilst enabling the project to be well managed. You’ll be involved in all stages of transportation projects including contract management (MSQA), development engineering, procurement, design and project management.

Day to day tasks would involve:

- Undertaking contract management duties (MSQA).
- Carrying out constructability reviews of draft designs.
- Reviewing of issued for construction drawings and specifications.
- Preparation of cost estimates for project design and construction projects including risk assessments to support contingency allowances.
- Preparation of project reports, site meeting records, observations and proceedings.
- Assist with writing requests for tender and other procurement documents and working along-side tender evaluation teams.
- Act in the role of Engineer’s Representative or Principal’s Representative Agent in the administration and surveillance of projects, in accordance with appropriate standards and procedures including Client contract management requirements.
- Develop and maintain constructive relationships with local contractors, clients and team members.
- Financial tracking, forecasting, reporting and management of construction projects.

**Qualifications**:
You’ll have the minimum of a Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent technical qualification with more than 6 years’ experience in the transportation or construction industry. A sound working knowledge of NZS 3910:2013 Conditions of Contract for Building and Civil Engineering Construction Projects and NZS 3917:2013 is required together with comprehensive knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act:2015 and accompanying regulations. In addition, you’ll have a level of technical competency to maintain high professional standards in the field of road asset / network management.
