**Trawler - Medium-Sized - Timaru Based** We require a number of experienced fisheries deckhands to work on our medium-sized trawler for our client NJS Fishing Ltd The vessel's home port is Timaru. We are seeking full-time crew for a 12-month period. Trips are usually for 6-10 days. Normal fisheries deckhand duties for a trawler vessel including the deployment and retrieval of the trawl net handling, storing, and unloading of the catch, and cleaning duties. Experience of at least six months experience as a fisheries deckhand is essential. Wire Splicing and net mending skills highly desirable. If you have the New Zealand Advanced Deckhand Fishing ( ADH-F) Qualification or equivalent that would be a definite advantage. If you feel you have what it takes please respond to this website. We are a happy team and crew safety and well-being of all our crew is our key priority. Part of our assessment process will involve limited police checks for all applicants. There is also a pre-employment and ongoing drug testing program for all of these positions. Applicants will need to agree with their previous employers being contacted in the vetting process.
