A kebab shop team member is an all-rounder role responsible for ensuring a smooth, efficient, and sanitary operation, which involves a mix of food preparation, customer service, and cleaning duties. Key Responsibilities and Duties
- **Customer Service**: Greet customers, take accurate food and beverage orders (both in-person and over the phone), answer menu questions, and handle customer complaints professionally.
- **Cash Handling**: Operate the cash register or Point of Sale (POS) system and process various payment methods accurately.
- **Food Preparation**: Assist with daily food preparation tasks, which may include chopping vegetables, preparing salads, cooking and slicing doner meat, frying chips/falafels, and assembling kebabs, wraps, and snack packs according to standardized recipes.
- **Hygiene and Cleanliness**: Adhere strictly to food safety and sanitation guidelines. Duties include cleaning and sanitizing workstations, kitchen equipment, dining areas, counters, and restrooms.
- **Stock Management**: Monitor inventory levels, restock supplies in customer and food preparation areas (e.g., condiment stations, beverage displays), and ensure proper rotation of perishable items.
- **Team Collaboration**: Work effectively as part of a team, follow instructions from shift managers or supervisors, and assist other staff members as needed to ensure smooth operations.

- **Customer-centric attitude**: A friendly, personable demeanor and strong communication skills are essential for providing excellent customer service.
- **Teamwork**: The ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with colleagues in a fast-paced environment.
- **Efficiency and Time Management**: Capability to work quickly and under pressure, especially during peak hours, without compromising quality.
- **Attention to Detail**: Ensuring order accuracy and adherence to food safety and hygiene standards.
- **Physical Stamina**: The role requires standing for long periods, walking, and occasionally lifting items (up to 15-25 kgs).
- **Flexibility**: Willingness to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and to be adaptable to changing tasks.
- **Prior Experience (preferred)**: While often an entry-level position with on-the-job training provided, previous experience in a fast-food or customer service role can be an advantage.
- **Basic Math Skills**: Needed for handling cash transactions and making change.

Pay: $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 per week
