Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand and Te Aka Whai Ora - Māori Health Authority will together shape the delivery of health services in Aotearoa New Zealand for generations to come and will form the core of a modern and integrated service looking after the needs of all our whanau.

Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
As the Regional Commissioner, you will be responsible to improve the health and wellbeing of the people in the Southern Region, with particular focus on improving equity of health outcomes within the funding available. The Regional Commissioner leads the commissioning of health and wellbeing services that delivers the Aotearoa Health Plan and transforms health services in the region.
In this role you will be working alongside three other regional commissioners and you will work in close partnership with Te Aka Whai Ora. You will also work closely with both the Regional Director, Hospital and Specialist from Te Whatu Ora and Te Aka Whai Ora and the Regional Director Pacific Health to ensure equity for Pacific populations is achieved.

Mōu | About you
As an experienced Commissioner, you will have experience on improving the equity of health outcomes within Aotearoa. You will have been responsible for needs analysis, prioritisation, procurement, financial management, relationship management and monitoring. You will have worked within national frameworks and have had considerable autonomy in achieving national goals.

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience

**Ideally you will have**:

- System-wide experience in leading and managing through transformational system change
- Experience leading and managing a workforce within an organisation where a high level of organisational acumen and political nous is required
- Experience at an executive level within large public facing multi-faceted or complex environments with multiple consumer and political interests and expectations
- Experience operating in a confidential/secure environment with access to sensitive information
