Pharmacist - Rotational

Our surgical specialties include: Orthopaedic/Spinal, Colorectal/Gastro, Gynae, Urology, Neurology, Oncology, Plastics, ENT/ORL, Head & Neck, and Cardiac/Vascular.

We are looking for a **Rotational Pharmacist** with clinical hospital experience to join the MercyAscot Pharmacy team working across both **Mercy Hospital (Epsom) and Ascot Hospital (Greenlane) sites**.

MercyAscot offers the unique opportunity to rotate through our combined community pharmacy/hospital dispensary at Mercy and the clinical pharmacy rotations at both Mercy and Ascot, switching with our other rotational pharmacists approximately every 2-3 months.

This role is part-time, working **24 hours per week**: Wednesday, Thursday & Friday (8:00am to 4:30pm) with one rostered on-call shift every 6 weeks including a Saturday dispensary shift.

**Key duties will include**:

- Dispense and supply medications for hospital patients and for community pharmacy prescriptions
- Provide over-the-counter/pharmacist-only consultations to customers
- Assist with queries from hospital staff (prescribers, nurses, etc) regarding medications
- Collaborate with team members to deliver consistent pharmacy services across the organisation
- Ensure best practice guidelines regarding medication safety are built into workflows for improved patient outcomes and enhanced patient experience

**Our Successful Applicant will have**:

- Registration with the Pharmacy Council of NZ and hold a current APC
- Experience in hospital & surgical clinical pharmacy
- Competency using RxONE dispensing software is an advantage
- Commitment to quality, accuracy and safety in their work
- Clear, concise communication and professional but friendly interpersonal skills
