This is an exciting time to join our Cyber Security team, providing an opportunity to help build and shape the cyber security landscape of the University of Otago.

Many people never get to see an end-to-end cyber security programme lifecycle in their careers. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to see a transformation from start to finish. Seeing this transformation is a perfect way to fast track your career to becoming a cyber security leader.

As a Specialist in Cloud Security, you will monitor, support, and maintain Cloud Security Tooling and Platforms. This includes implementing policy changes and performing routine checks.

As a specialist you will aim to contribute to the development of cyber security frameworks, policies, services, standards, patterns, and other artefacts.

You will also aim to recognise areas for security improvements within the cloud platform’s automation, access controls, network etc.

Part of your Cloud Security Specialist role will mean coordinating remediation of pen testing findings or incident management. This includes delivering cloud transformation projects from the early planning phase, right through to successful deployment.

**_ Kā pūkeka me kā wheako/Your skills and experience_**

Ideally you will be an experienced cyber security professional, who has worked in a similar sized, complex environment. Other relevant skills and experience include:

- Experience working with intrusion detection systems (IDS), security incident and event monitoring (SIEM) in a complex organisation.
- Membership of relevant trust groups/agencies (such as FIRST, REN-ISAX, AusCERT, NZITF, CERT, NZ.).
- Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) or similar industry qualifications.
- Knowledge of NIST CSF, ISO 27001, COBIT or other relevant frameworks.
- Programming skills in a variety of programming and command scripting languages.
