The purpose of the Manager Information Management position is to empower the Department to manage information safely, efficiently and intelligently; leveraging modern digital tools to unlock value, ensure compliance and enable confident decision making.

This position provides strategic oversight of Information Management at an enterprise level and champions the effective management and use of information, with a particular focus on how it can support new ways of working and uplift capability.

This position leads and manages activities such as the development of new processes and services, transitioning information management system changes into business-as-usual services and support, and redesigning services to meet changing business needs.

The key skills and capabilities required for this position include:

- Experience leading and managing an information management function at a strategic level
- Experience leading and managing teams
- Proven experience in setting strategy and driving the modernisation of the information management function through the use of digital tools and platforms, including Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and other enterprise content management technologies
- Have a history of delivery in the public sector, including experience interacting with and securing the confidence of Ministers
- Ability to think strategically and see the bigger picture
- Ability to lead and contribute to the development of new processes and services, as well as transitioning information management system changes into BAU operations
- Sound judgement in dealing with complex, sensitive or ambiguous issues
- Ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret security clearance
