**About us**

Successfully grown Australasia’s largest dating app which focused on casual dating, HUD Studio is launching a new dating app focusing on after the first date when things get serious. You’ll have the opportunity to come in to build upon the existing prototype and launch the product to market. The app will be female focused and will drill deeper into what women want when moving from first date to soul mate. You’ll work with our diverse team to research and present your ideas while crafting a unique offering in the dating app space.

Our Auckland-based full in-house team design, build and operate our apps on both iOS and Android platforms. HUD Studio is home to New Zealand’s biggest home-grown dating app with over 11 million users worldwide (and growing). We are a diverse team that celebrates success and have a mixed work from home, 2 days in the office approach to work.

**About the role**

You'll be working with cross-functional teams to design intuitive, innovative and well-crafted user experiences informed by research that solve real problems for a growing user base.

We have an opportunity for an experienced Product UX/UI Designer to join our team at a very exciting time of growth, with a new project kicking off.

You will join our team to design & create a mobile app, with a strong presence in the North American market. You'll be working with cross-functional teams to design intuitive, innovative and well-crafted user experiences informed by research that solve real problems.

What you'll be doing:

- Working collaboratively with product managers, product owners, developers and the wider team.
- Gathering data about user needs and behaviours through desk research and field research.
- Designing and prototyping concepts for new features and improvements.
- Facilitating and/or observing customer interviews and user testing of concepts.
- Participating in and/or facilitating workshops during discovery and delivery.
- Autonomy. You’ll take full ownership of your work, and you take responsibility for every last detail, every step of the way.
**About you**
- You have 3-5 years of relevant experience, ideally working for tech companies or digital agencies in mobile app design.
- You’re an effective communicator and facilitator who can relate to developers, testers, internal stakeholders and customers.
- You have solid design skills. You’ve shipped products, and understand what it takes to create valuable, people-oriented experiences.
- You’re constantly sketching concepts, tweaking flows or refining designs that represent the big-thinking work. Your head is in the clouds while your feet are on the ground.
- You have the ability to deliver high quality work, and care about the impact.
- You have a people-focused design mentality. You are constantly looking to refine your designs through user feedback, whether through hands-on user research, or designing options for A/B tests.
- You are a confident user of tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud and prototyping software.
- You have an online portfolio, or PDF that you can share with us.
- An understanding of HTML5 and CSS3 would be great but not necessary.
- Enjoy branding and creative design would also be great but not necessary
