We are seeking the services of a
part-time Health Care Assistant to work in the Child and Adolescent Community
Centre at Wairau Hospital. You would be working as part of a diverse team
including registered nurses, medical staff, social workers and administrators.
This is a support role and tasks may include housekeeping
duties to improve and maintain the facility, administration and reception work,
clinical tasks such as recording height, weight and vital signs for paediatric
clinics, monitoring and ordering consumables.
As a Health Care Assistant you will be part of our dedicated nursing environment with full support. Your role is to work within the team to assist nursing staff in care delivery, patient monitoring and other tasks as directed. Every day is different, and our nursing team enjoys the variety of work, the people they interact with, and the challenge of giving each patient the best customer experience, whilst ensuring that everything runs to schedule.
The full-time equivalent salary range for this position is $46,182 to $53,803 based on the current NZNO Nursing and Midwifery MECA, dependent on skills, experience & relevant qualifications.

You will have the ability to engage positively with children, young people,
families and a range of health professionals and support staff. You will be able to work independently as part of a team, by showing initiative and
ownership of key tasks that will enhance the paediatric/SCBU environment for
families and staff. You will make valuable contributions to the department by using your
time efficiently and effectively and by taking a pride in your work to achieve
defined goals.
Experience within the health sector is preferred but is not essential as full training will be provided.
**Qualifications**:
Essential
- Year 11 NCEA level 1 English (or equivalent)
- Year 11 NCEA level 1 Maths (or equivalent)For the health and wellbeing of patients and staff you are required to provide proof that you have completed your primary course of NZ approved Covid-19 vaccinations.
