Te Aho o Te Kura Pounamu (Te Kura) is New Zealand's largest school. We provide personalised and authentic learning programmes through distance education from early childhood level to NCEA Level 3, including to young adult and adult learners.
Our vision is to enable our students (ākonga) to achieve their educational and personal goals, empowering them to become engaged and contributing members of their communities.
**Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this position**
As a Secondary Tertiary Advisor, you will be responsible for the co-ordination and administration of STAR course opportunities to Te Kura fulltime and Young Adult secondary school aged ākonga. Additionally, you will:
- Liaise with multiple stakeholders ensuring ākonga best interests are serviced while maintaining a mentoring approach.
- Work to implement strategies to support participation of Māori and Pacific ākonga in programmes
- Ensure that effective systems and plans are developed across the team
**Ko koe tēnei | About you**
To be successful in this role, you'll bring your knowledge and experience of working with young people, Polytechnics and Private Training Establishments together with an understanding of the National Qualifications Framework.
You will have experience in working with youth or the transition from school to work or further study, together with a good understanding of online teaching systems and learning environments and proven administration experience.
The role requires excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to make sound decisions to ensure tasks are completed within time and to the required standard.
