**Ngā mōhiohio e pā ana ki tēnei mahi (About this position)**

Our Community Adult Mental Health and Addictions teams provide comprehensive assessment and treatment of people identified as having moderate to severe mental illness and associated psychosocial issues.

For the adult mental health portion of this role (0.4 FTE), you will be joining our multidisciplinary Acute Team working in partnership with colleagues to provide session limited, focused interventions that are specifically directed to assist clients in acute distress. You will also provide initial psychological assessment and formulation services to the general intake team.

For the AOD portion of the role (0.2 FTE), you will be working within our multidisciplinary addictions team. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to gain valuable skills directly providing specialist treatment to clients confronting substance addiction and mental illness as well as supporting and enhancing the work of clinical colleagues through supervision and teaching.

We are looking for a Clinical Psychologist with post-registration experience in a mental health setting and up-to-date knowledge of psychological interventions relating to mental health issues.

You will have excellent interpersonal and organisations skills and will be an active participant in our multidisciplinary teams. You will be the type of person who fits into a cohesive team culture of collaborative practice, openness, humour, and respect across disciplines. You will engender confidence, trust and rapport with clients and their support networks.
- Te Whatu Ora staff must have completed their primary course of two NZ approved COVID-19 vaccinations as they have direct contact with patients and members of the public._

Both the NZ Psychological Society and the NZ College of Clinical Psychologist have active branches in the Nelson area and provide opportunities for members to attend training and maintain connections with psychologists in private practice.
