Napier City Council prides itself on delivering a range of services and community spaces for the City of Napier. We have an ambitious capital works program, delivering major transformation in our water, wastewater and storm water networks.

Instrumental to this is the Infrastructure Directorate which oversees the management of roading, environmental, parks, reserves, sportsgrounds and three waters.

**The Opportunity**:
As a member of the executive leadership team, The Director Infrastructure leads a large team and manages a significant operational budget. You will be responsible for ensuring the effective coordination and integration of all asset management planning, programme development, and operational delivery. Key will be your ability to guide and engage the team through the three waters reform program which is where your people leadership and change management experience will be most valuable.

Particular focus of the role includes:

- Setting operational, maintenance and capital work programmes and budgets based on Infrastructure needs to meet agreed Levels of Services
- Providing a strategic plan for Napier City Council Infrastructure Directorate that integrates across other relevant Directorates.
- Providing strategic advice to the divisional managers within that Directorate.
- Managing the business and Infrastructure asset management in an efficient manner, within the established policy guidelines.
- Achieving a high level of community satisfaction.
- Developing implementation strategies, work programmes and facilitating outcomes.
**About You**:
Strong relationship management and a collaborative working style are important qualities required for the role along with excellent people leadership and influencing skills you will have the ability to motivate, develop and inspire others.

We expect that as a minimum you will have a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil), with experience at a senior manager level developing and implementing strategy, project and asset management, contractor management and strong people leadership.
