**The Team**
The Department of Anaesthesia is a large department which provides acute and planned anaesthesia services in Christchurch across two main campuses, Christchurch Public and Burwood Hospital. Surgical services are provided for all the main surgical specialities including Cardiothoracic, Vascular, Neurosurgery, Trauma, Paediatric/Neonatal surgery and Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Tertiary services provided for patients from outside Canterbury include Acute Spine, Oncological surgery and endovascular clot retrieval. The department is accredited for training by ANZCA and has a large number of trainees.
**The Role**
We are seeking to fill potential upcoming general Specialist Anaesthetist positions based at Christchurch Hospital. We currently are seeking expressions of interest for both full-time permanent and fixed-term positions) both full-time permanent and fixed term positions (3 months up to 18 months with negotiable part
- or full-time options). The Department will endeavour to accommodate specific clinical and non-clinical interests. Please get in touch to discuss potential options of what the Department may be offering.
This role involves providing high quality anaesthesia care and professional clinical leadership to ensure the best possible health outcomes whilst working collaboratively with our multidisciplinary perioperative teams.
Your duties will also include participation in an on-call out-of-hours roster (potentially including obstetrics) and supervision of trainees. Applicants for Specialist positions must have a qualification recognised for vocational registration by the Medical Council of New Zealand
