We are looking for an experienced Water Technician to join our Contracting Division. In this role, you’ll work alongside our established water crews, taking responsibility for the installation of new water mains and the maintenance of existing infrastructure across our network on a day-to-day basis.
In addition to the responsibilities mentioned above, you will also:
- Install new water mains and make the necessary connections- Connect water services for both commercial and residential properties, including the installation of backflow preventers- Carry out pipe installation and maintenance, using both small and large plant equipment- Conduct pressure testing and sterilisation of new mains prior to their connection to existing networks- Install valves, hydrants, and other associated water main fittings- Be flexible regarding working hours, as occasional weekend work may be required

We are seeking an individual with the following attributes:
- Holds a Class 2 licence and WTR endorsement- At least 5 years' experience in Water Infrastructure and Maintenance- Strong knowledge of water reticulation systems, with demonstrated skills in electrofusion and butt-fusion welding- Able to interpret and work from technical drawings- Either possesses, or is actively working towards, a Level 3 Water Qualification (minimum required)- Communicates effectively with colleagues and management- Self-motivated, approachable, and works well within a team environment- Physically fit, prepared to be hands-on and undertake practical tasks- Displays a proactive, can-do attitude and is capable of troubleshooting on-site- Solid understanding of site safety and hazard management- Fully committed to personal safety and the wellbeing of others
