**About the Role: Glazier**

Astatek 2000 Limited is currently seeking two skilled and dedicated individuals to fill the role of Glazier, primarily focused on windows, curtain walls and facade installations. As a Glazier, you will play a crucial role in our construction projects, contributing to the aesthetic appeal and functionality of various structures. Your responsibilities will revolve around precise glass handling, cutting, and installation to deliver high-quality solutions.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Assessing project requirements to determine the type, size, and dimensions of glass needed for installations.
- Preparing glass sheets by laying them over patterns on padded tables and in jigs, and marking them for cutting.
- Utilizing cutting tools and templates to precisely cut glass according to specified measurements and designs.
- Shaping glass to fit specific architectural features and installation requirements.
- Conducting thorough inspections of glass materials to identify any defects or imperfections.
- Marking and addressing defective areas to ensure only high-quality glass is used in installations.
- Installing glass and mirrors in various settings such as windows, skylights, display cases, and interior walls.
- Ensuring proper alignment, fit, and sealing of glass elements to achieve desired aesthetics and functionality.
- Smoothing rough edges and surfaces of glass using appropriate tools such as belt sanders and smoothing wheels.
- Adhering to safety guidelines and protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
- Using personal protective equipment (PPE) and following established safety procedures during all phases of work.
- Collaborating with project managers, designers, and other team members to coordinate installations and meet project deadlines.
- Communicating effectively to relay project requirements, progress updates, and any potential issues or challenges encountered during installations.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- At least three-years’ experience as Glazier/fabricator.
- Physical fitness and the ability to lift and carry heavy materials.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Willingness to learn and work in a team-oriented environment.
- Knowledge of construction tools and equipment.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Must be willing to be assigned to Auckland, Bay of Plenty, Canterbury, Christchurch, Gisborne, Hawke's Bay, Manawatu, Wanganui, Nelson, Otago, Dunedin, Southland, Taranaki, Waikato, Wellington.
- Must be willing to work outside office hours (e.g., early mornings, late nights, and on weekends), as our job depends on permissible weather conditions.

**Job Benefits**:

- 35 hours per week of work is guaranteed.
- Starting minimum salary is $30 per hour.
- Competitive rates to be negotiated dependent on experience, can be up to $32 per hour.
- Immediate Start (for migrant workers, upon obtaining appropriate work visa and arrival in NZ).
