**Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity**

We have an exciting opportunity for a Network Engineer to join our team. As IT evolves and Auckland's public transport network grows, you'll support and grow a fascinating IT network environment. Your role will involve ensuring IT network systems are scalable, secure, available, and supportable. You'll also handle automation and lifecycle management of infrastructure services based on SEC/DEV/OPS requirements.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Optimize network infrastructure cost and efficiency.
- Support and maintain network services at various sites.
- Automate provisioning and management of systems.
- Manage lifecycle of systems in distributed environments.
- Handle deployment, management, and decommissioning of networking resources.
- Implement infrastructure recommendations for reliability and security.
- Manage performance and operational indicators for continuous delivery.

**Ko koe tēnei | About you**

As a Network Engineer, you'll have previous experience in a distributed technology environment.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline, or significant proven experience in a similar role.
- Industry certifications, such as CCNP or equivalent, as a minimum Microsoft Azure networking and scripting skills is desirable.
- Minimum 4 years' experience in a distributed technology environment.
- You will bring experience with core networking technologies, examples: Firewalls, Load Balances, Routing, Switching, Security and Wireless.

You'll be an exceptional communicator, able to build effective relationships with stakeholders and have proven experience in managing third party suppliers.
