Our Category Managers look after everything to do with the offering in our Z stores, and we are looking for a Kaitaki Wehenga - Hokohoko Z Category Manager - Z Retail to deliver a broad range of products across Aotearoa.

Your ranges will include groceries, general merchandise, tech products, sunglasses, LPG and milkshakes, it's definitely a diverse portfolio of products

Building strong relationships with our suppliers and distributors, you will manage promotional activity to drive sales and develop strategies utilising market research and data. You will also work closely with our internal teams including the squad bringing our store refresh to life.

**This role can be based in either our Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland or Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington offices.**

**You will have the opportunity to**
- Assist with the development of strategies for products utilising insights, research and market data
- Drive growth and profitability through reviewing weekly and monthly reporting scorecards and develop gap fill initiatives
- Develop a rolling 18-month plan of effective product mix/innovation, planograms and promotions
- In conjunction with the Senior Category Manager, negotiate with suppliers to maximize category profitability
- Conduct category reviews annually

**Qualifications**:
**What you’ll bring to Z**
- Experience as a Category Manager, in a FMCG environment
- The ability to manage multiple stakeholders and develop positive relationships
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of IRI and/or Neilsen scan data would be helpful
- Proven negotiation skills, sales management, and problem-solving skills
- The ability to think commercially to identify and deliver on growth opportunities

The base salary range for this role is $96,475 to $113,500 per annum, plus 15% bonus based on company performance, a 5% KiwiSaver employer contribution and health insurance through Southern Cross.
