Role Purpose
The Production Planner serves as the key facilitator of demand requirements to meet sales forecasts from short to long term for the Porirua Site. In addition, they provide strategic recommendations and coordinate decisions relating to inventory and planning strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily schedule for all Departments to meet output targets in all production areas as required,
- S&OP for Porirua Press, Bag & Films - input and execution, functions include but not limited to,
- portfolio reviews
- demand reviews
- weekly load meetings
- Owns Films S&OP, functions include but not limited to
- critically reviews forecast against known demand
- develops inventory and campaign production plans
- tracks, plans on short/medium/long term basis and adjusts them to ensure optimal outcomes
- works with Purchasing to ensure raw material inventory’s allow flexibility of production and demand while minimizing stock
- maintains stocks to ensure 98% OTC can be delivered
- Direct labour/resources across plant to balance lead-time, OTC and efficiencies per site KPI’s,
- Preventative and corrective actioning of issues relating but not limited to:
- planning
- delivery performance
- supply shortage
- material consumption
- BOMs
- Drive continuous performance improvement and implement robust preventative actions, including but not limited to:
- demand, production and business planning
- inventory management, including levels and age
- production practices to meet demand fluctuations
About the Person
An understanding of materials management and supply chain best practice,
- ERP system knowledge essential, SAP/BI preferable,
- Familiar with SAP / Business Intelligence or BW data mining activities,
- Computer literacy in Excel - advanced,
- Computer literacy in Word & Powerpoint - intermediate,
- Able to maintain a clear focus on eliminating waste, simplifying and error-proofing processes, sustaining gains, and creating flow,
- Be an effective communicator and
- NZPICS or APICS CPIM certification.
