The secret to our success is our people. While we are ordinary people, we are not all the same. We welcome diversity, in all its forms, in fact we consider it a strength. Join us and work at the heart of national security to protect New Zealand and New Zealanders.
**About the role**:
NZSIS is looking for a talented, highly motivated Senior Risk Advisor to join our fun and collaborative team in Wellington.
We can't reveal all the details of what you'll be involved in, but as a key advisor driving the agency's risk management framework and maturity you will work on novel issues and play a critical role in ensuring the agency's operations continue to their high standards. You will act as a specialist in this area and be responsible for developing, designing, and implementing risk frameworks and business continuity planning that aligns to the requirements of the organisation. The role will involve engagement with external and internal stakeholders.
**About you**:
You will be comfortable providing direction and advice on enterprise risk, advancing improvements in risk identification and response. You will also have had relevant experience and exposure to risk management or business continuity planning. The role will also provide opportunity to support compliance investigations, response and audits.
**To be successful in this role you will also bring**:
- The ability to communicate with staff and teams at all levels, especially those at Senior Management/Director level.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience managing key stakeholder relationships and requirements
- Confidence to question, understand, and validate what's going on and undertake thorough analysis
Your team will be around to provide parameters, support, guidance, and challenge you; however, we need someone with the confidence and expertise to work with a level of autonomy and do what needs to be done.
You'll have a great sense of humour, collegiality and be a hard-working person who enjoys engaging with people to continually promote our risk maturity and compliance culture.
