**Salary Band**: $92,073 to $124,570 depending on skills and experience

We have six Senior Forestry Service Adviser roles available nationwide.

Kōrero mō te Tūranga - About the Role
You'll be part of a national team working with landowners and organisations to support capability building, provide advice on the benefits of trees, increase regulatory awareness, and provide quality information on TUR-NZFS's work programmes.

**Your key responsibilities for this role will include**:

- Providing information and advice on forests and forestry activity across all stages of the forest lifecycle
- Working locally with forestry networks, industry, and complementary groups to build knowledge and capability by sharing expertise, insight and information
- Reviewing and signing-out advice provided by other advisers who are not registered to provide independent advice under the Forests Act
- Supporting Te Uru Rākau - New Zealand Forest Service in local engagement and outreach activities

Mōu - About You
You're someone who enjoys building collaborative relationships in order to get work done.
- Have excellent communication skills including the ability to prepare and deliver unbiased and neutral forest advice (written and verbal).
- Be a registered Forest Adviser (or qualified to register) under the Forests Amendment Act
- Have experience across the forestry lifecycle.
- Be able to work with a high degree of independence and provide mentoring support to advisers.
- Have the ability to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

These roles are part of the Forestry Engagement and Advice directorate within Te Uru Rākau - New Zealand Forest Service (TUR-NZFS). TUR-NZFS is a branded business unit within the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) and is leading the Government's renewed focus on forestry, one of our country's most successful primary industries. You'll be joining a dynamic and diverse team who partner with tangata whenua, landowners and the forestry and wood processing sectors to ensure our people and forests are fit for now, fit for the future.
