We have an exciting opportunity for a Systems Librarian to work in the Digital, Collections and Access Library Team. You will work closely with the Digital Librarian who is also based in the Collections, Digital and Access Library Team, and together these two positions will strongly align Puke Ariki Library and community libraries to meet new digital directions and services required by the 2019 Library Strategy.

Your role will include supporting the library management system (through the Kōtui consortia) producing regular statistics, contributing to developing the online catalogue and e-collections, desktop support of hardware and software used at Puke Ariki Library and the community libraries and investigating new and emerging technologies.

Reporting to the Collections, Digital and Access Library Lead the purpose of this technical role is to:
Lead and contribute to the digital direction of library services to meet the growing needs of digital services and support of increasing technological solutions
Guide and coordinate the configuration of the library management system (Kotui) to meet process requirements.
Administer the use and relevance of the online library databases
Produce statistical reports from library systems to inform decision making (LibPas and Power Bi)
Assist with the increasing demands in providing digital experiences for customers.
Support staff and customers in the use of digital systems and platforms
Contribute to training and programming activities

**The skills/qualifications required for this position include**:
A recognised library qualification (specialising in digital services) or a qualification in a related field such as IT
A thorough working knowledge, administration and configuration of Library Management systems and experience in administering online library databases
Ability to produce statistics from library systems, using statistical reporting software
Web administration and ability to configure the Library Online Catalogue (OPAC)
Experience with RFID library systems, MARC and RDA cataloguing, online ordering and EDI Invoicing
Some programming and/or coding experience (desirable)
An understanding of content management systems and advanced Microsoft Office skills
Knowledge and awareness of new and emerging digital technologies and trends
Knowledge of developing collections in digital formats
Excellent communication and customer service skills
