Nursery Supervisor

- At Ruby Orchids, we take immense pride in our quality plants, sustainable practices, and our incredible, diverse, and inclusive workforce. We’re looking for a Nursery Supervisor to join our growing team at our facility in Drury._
- As a hands-on role, you will be responsible for:_
- _Conducting and supervising regular crop inspections_
- _Irrigation monitoring - automatic and manual_
- _Pest and disease identification_
- _Spraying of pest & diseases_
- _Keeping accurate records_
- _Fertiliser preparation_
- _Picking and packaging of crop for sale_
- _Grading and Quality control of the sale product_
- _Assisting with overseeing crop and variety planning_
- _Selecting plants and bulbs for splitting and suprvising and conducting the planting of them._
- _Monitoring boiler, irrigation equipment and plastic house maintenance_
- _Train new seasonal horticultural workers on crop maintenance and plant care, including tying up the flower spikes and weeding._
- _Teach new staff procedures for health and safety and ensure they conform to them._
- _Manage team, including providing feedback to Production Manager and CEO on staff performance_
- _Assist in the hiring of seasonal horticultural workers_
- _Tractor and forklift driving_
- **What We’re Looking For**:_
- _Proven at least 1-year experience in greenhouse, New Zealand experience is preferred._
- _Strong multitasking abilities and the flexibility to adapt to an ever-changing environment._
- _A scientific/process-based approach to achieving results._
- _A current driver’s license and forklift license._
- _Strong physical fitness to maintain watering systems._
- _A keen eye for detail to ensure productivity targets and high-quality outcomes._

Pay: $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 45 per week

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
