Electrical Reliability Engineer

**About the role**

Reporting to the RM Maintenance Superintendent, the key purposes of the role are to:

- To develop maintenance strategies that support the reliability of the Rolling Mills
- Carry out maintenance planning when required.
- Assist in breakdown maintenance when required.
- Determine critical spares, and ensure correct quantity is in store.

**About the person**

As the equipment performance owner, you will be expected to maximize plant reliability and availability to keep production running at optimum levels. You will use your engineering knowledge to analyze equipment failure modes and your leadership skills to facilitate cross functional groups in decision-making and improvements.

To be successful in this role you will need to have a strong team focus, excellent communication skills and an uncompromising attitude to safety. You will also be highly organized, have the capacity to plan and delegate responsibilities to others, and have solid analytical skills and be able to trouble-shoot with a problem-solving approach. Other key skills and experience include:

- Committed to meeting high quality standards and safe work practices.
- A proven leader with an industrial background.
- A qualified Electrical Engineer.
- A logical systems thinker.
- Experienced in root cause analysis of equipment breakdowns.
- Knowledgeable of Maximo maintenance systems.
- Capable of functioning effectively in a team environment and the ability to work self-directed.
- Control Systems experience.
- An uncompromising attitude to safety.
