Westland Milk Products enjoys an international reputation and embodies the West Coast spirit in all that it does. It's taken some good old-fashioned hard work to get where we are, and our committed team are a huge part of our ongoing success. We process over 700 million litres of milk a year and produce a wide range of dairy ingredients and products.

We are looking for a Packing Operator to work in our cream plant based in Hokitika. Packing Operators are responsible for operating the packing lines and for performing product sampling in order to ensure all cream products (butter etc) are packed & sampled to the highest level without compromising quality. Operators will also be responsible for maintaining clean plant and work areas and providing operational support to other areas when required in addition to adhering to all quality and plant operational parameters.

We'll teach you various processes including quality control points, and hygiene standards and help you learn and develop a range of plant and equipment operating skills to ensure you will be well-equipped to perform in the role.

- A strong quality focus with a high level of attention to detail
- Good time management skills along with a passion for multi-tasking and a flexible and adaptable approach
- Excellent people and communication skills
- The ability to learn quickly and the ability to solve problems
- A unwavering commitment to health & safety (focus & awareness) and adherence to all quality/systems and procedures
- A mechanical aptitude and basic computer literacy

All roles work on a 4 on (2 days - 5.45am-6pm, 2 nights - 5.45pm-6am) 4 off shift basis which offers you lots of opportunity for time off, pursuing your passions and enjoying/exploring all the region has to offer.
