Kōrero mō te Tūranga - About the Role
We are on the hunt for a smart and enthusiastic Senior Analyst who challenge conventional thinking and use their data and analytical skills to transform the way information is collected and shared. Our team investigates emerging trends in agricultural production, forestry and trade to understand what the changing world means for the future of our primary industries.
To be successful you'll have a passion for growing and understanding our primary sectors, with relevant experience in consulting, business, banking, or as an economist or related role. This is an exciting position and one that offers the opportunity to really make an impact while carving out your own space.

Mōu - About You
We are looking for someone with an analytical background, but more importantly, someone that has a great attitude and curious nature to look for out of the box ideas and solutions. In this role, you'll partner with key industry stakeholders to improve the quality and relevance of primary sector production and export forecasts and drive key strategic policy questions regarding the future of NZ's food and fibre sector
To be successful, you'll be an outgoing people person, have a passion for turning data into useful information and insights, be an excellent writer, and have strong skills around communicating results to a wide range of people.

MPI's Economic Data and Analysis team investigates emerging trends in agricultural production and trade to understand what the changing world means for the future of our primary industries. It also plays a key role in improving and providing accurate and useful farm benchmarking data across physical, financial, and environmental measures.
