**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**
The Community Acute Service operates 24 hours, 7 days a week and is made up of 2 functions:
- Our Planned Acute Care teams, based in each of the four adult Community Mental Health Services (CMHS) across Auckland
- Urgent Response Service, based at Greenlane Clinical Centre 8am-11pm and at Auckland City Hospital overnight.
The Urgent Response Service assess tāngata whai i te ora who require an urgent mental health assessment. This is a dynamic team that responds assertively to the acute mental health needs of tāngata whai i te ora in the community.
Working overnight for the Urgent Response Service requires autonomy and the ability to work independently. You have access to the overnight registrar, an oncall DAO colleague and the overnight staff at Te Whetu Tawera. The role includes responding to phone calls to the mental health line, responding to the police and providing DAO duties in the Auckland City Emergency Department, the Auckland Custody Unit and the community.
Our Planned Acute Care teams provide a comprehensive range of therapeutic treatment options offering intensive home support when increased intervention is required. Our Planned Acute Care team members are rostered into our Urgent Response Service (including weekends and nights).
**Qualifications and Attributes**:
- Possess clinical expertise and a strong focus on whaiora and whanau-centred care.
- Exhibit the ability to collaborate effectively with tangata whai I te ora other governmental health service providers, government agencies, and community organizations.
- Hold a valid Annual Practicing Certificate (APC).
- Possess a Postgraduate Certificate in Mental Health.
- Have minimum 2 Year MH experience working in a Mental Health setting.
- Demonstrate a dedicated commitment to biculturalism.
- Duly Authorised Officer of the Mental Health act.
- Full, clean drivers licence
