Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
Hutt Hospital is currently looking for kitchen assistants to join our food service team. This is a casual position with an abundance of hours available. Shifts range between the hours of 6.30am to 7pm, 7 days a week. The preference is for applicants to have availability across all shifts. Career progression into part time and full time positions available within the Food Service and across other areas within the hospital.
Kitchen duties include meal assembly, basic food preparation, transport of trolleys and cleaning. Cafe and Coffee Shop shifts include barista, customer service, food presentation and cleaning. This is a busy environment with a fast paced work day.
Hutt Hospital food service provides approximately 1000 meals each day. All meals are prepared and served fresh onsite. We are committed to ensuring quality meals to our patients, staff, visitors and Meals on Wheels recipients.

We are a team of 38 diverse people who take pride in providing quality, tasty meals to our patients, staff and visitors. Our work day is busy but we like to have a laugh with each other as we work. We encourage a team environment.
